 Ethnocentrism- Ethnocentrism at times can be seen as a negative term due to the fact that it directly signifies one's own culture and beliefs are greater than the rest. This can be seen throughout the States as we are a nation of migrants with numerous values and upbringings. This includes religion, more specifically Christianity. Christianity can be seen throughout history pushing other religions down and not allowing them to be practiced for the belief that Christianity is the superior religion. Other religions practices were deemed wrong through the eyes of god and many were forced to convert to Christianity for this excuse. 

Enculturation- Beauty standards are taught through both environment and culture from a young age. Different biases start forming subconsciously through media and magazines. Through these societies, placing  certain values on specific characteristics is what has allowed the 511 billion dollar beauty industry to succeed. Around the world the idea of what the beauty standards change but at certain ages both girls and boys will discover what's considered acceptable in society's eyes as beautiful. From this judgements will be made and will usually carry on throughout one's life. This includes body image and fashion norms created by the ideas and people one is surrounded by.

A comment often thrown around is how much easier life was in medieval times. What sparked this specific article was a tweet made by a woman named Azie Dungey she said, “We give a lot more labor to increase someone else’s wealth than in times past. We generally work much longer hours. John D Rockefeller - Eli

John Davison Rockefeller was born on July 8, 1839, in Richford, New York. And In 1864, Rockefeller married Laura Celestia. Laura Celestia was an Ohio native and had a very successful father. Her father was active in helping the underground railroad and was an abolitionist. together Rockefeller and Celestia went on to have five children, 4 of them girls and one boy. however one of the girls, Alice Rockefeller died when she was only 13 months old.
