 Adaptive Mechanism-

    An example of an adaptive mechanism seen in nature is in the Red Mangrove tree. The Red Mangrove is able to survive in extreme coastal conditions. Because of adaptations in its root systems, it is able to grow in saltwater. This ability comes from the tree’s complex root filtration system which separates the salt from the water. The Mangrove tree is able to filter out as much as 90 percent of salt from the seawater that enters its root system. Because of the unique adaptive mechanism the Red Mangrove tree utilizes, it is able to thrive in an environment that is ill-suited for most other species of plants. 


Syncretism-


    An example of religious syncretism comes from the intermixing of the Taoism, Confucianism, and Legalism beliefs which occurred in China during and after the Warring States period.


    Another example of syncretism is seen in the holiday Easter. Easter is generally seen as a Christian holiday celebrating the rebirth of Jesus. However, the symbol or face of Easter, the Easter Bunny, has no real connection to Christianity. The same goes for the Easter tradition of egg hunting. Both are actually symbols of reproductive fertility which were celebrated by Pagans in the spring. Easter was even named after the ancient Germanic pagan goddess of fertility.

John D Rockefeller - Eli

John Davison Rockefeller was born on July 8, 1839, in Richford, New York. And In 1864, Rockefeller married Laura Celestia. Laura Celestia was an Ohio native and had a very successful father. Her father was active in helping the underground railroad and was an abolitionist. together Rockefeller and Celestia went on to have five children, 4 of them girls and one boy. however one of the girls, Alice Rockefeller died when she was only 13 months old.
